26/8 -06
Today I woke up around 7 to get a shower and get myself ready for the journey to my new home. Soon the rest of the family woke up and got ready as well but not for the journey, for the good bye. Around half past 8 me and the rest of the family sat in the car and we drove of to the bus terminal. When we arrived there I got my ticket from the nice lady in the ticket stand (or whatever it called in English). And when that was done we sat down to eat some breakfast, I had a nice sandwich with ham, cheese and tomato. Yummy! =P
When it was time for me to go to the bus I got this weird feeling. I was sad but happy at the same time. Sad because I’m gonna miss my family and friends so much. Mum wont have anyone to watch TV with anymore. Me and my mum always watch TV together… I was happy because I know it will be great here. I will get new friends and Karlstad is a nice city.
At 9:40 am I watched my mum, dad and sister getting smaller and smaller as the bus drove off. The only thing I did during the bus journey was listening to music and what was a bit creepy was that the first song that started to play on my iPod was Good Riddance (Time of your life) by Green Day. “Another turning point a fork stuck in the road. Times grab you by the wrist direct you where to go.” maybe it’s only me that find that a bit creepy but it was nice. It’s one of my fave song by Green Day.
When I arrived in Karlstad around 1:10 pm and know I had to find the right bus to take me to my apartment. That was easier said than done. I walked around with my bags for more then half an hour and I got warmer and sweatier and I really needed to go to the toilet. Guess if I was happy when I got on the right bus! The first thing I did when I got to the apartment was to use the toilet, and after that I laid down on my bed and rested for a while. I was so tired. During the rest of the day not much happened. I unpacked my stuff and went to buy some things to eat and so on. I went to bed pretty early.
27/8- 06
Today I woke up around 8. And after watching TV (don’t remember what I was watching) for quite a while I got up and took a shower, ate breakfast and so on. Around 12 I went out on a walk, just to look at the area. And after that I ate lunch (tuna with pasta and vegetables. Yummy!). Then after that I did nothing, it had started to rain outside so I didn’t really want to take another walk. At around 4:30 Marlena called. She is daughter to one of my mum and dads co-worker and is on her second year on the Economics program. We decided to meet up down in the city to take something to drink.
Marlena was really nice and she gave me some good advices and so. She also told me a little about how Nollningen (Don’t know what this is called in English) was going to be. We talked for a few hours and we had some things in common. For example we both like going to Sticky Fingers (Rock/Dance club in Gothenburg) on Thursdays, We both are born in September and we both dislike that stupid song Boten Anna =P
When I got home around 9 my mum called and we talked for a few minutes. She and my sister Nemo(Sophia) is all alone for some days now. My dad and big brother Robert is with work in Barcelona. (I WANNA BE THERE TOO! I love Barcelona!)
28/8 - 06 - The DAY!
Today I first woke up around 5 but I fell asleep again as I didn’t have to go up yet in a few hours. At half past 7 my alarm clock went off and I had to go up. I watched the News on TV, ate breakfast and then put on some clothes. At a quarter to 9 I went down to the University and I saw a lot of people doing the same. And then I really mean A LOT! There were people every where! When I got into the building I had to register me on the courses and I got a membership in Lärarar Förbundet. After that me and everybody else that want to teach went in to the big room/hall (whatever). I sat down next to a girl/woman called Ida, she’s 23 and from Skövde. She want to teach religion and psychology. We sat in this big room for about hours and got lots and lots of info about the program and the school. After that people from LÄSK (Lärarstuderande I Karlstad) showed us around the school. And then it was over.
Later on, at 6 pm I went down to Stora Torget (Big square) down in the centre of Karlstad. Why? Well because that’s where the Nollning would start. Quite a lot people showed up and I started to talk to a few more people. All the new students got into 10 teams and every team had a leader, (a student that had been at the uni for a few years or so) and this leader had some helpers. I Got into the team Bilmeckarna (the car mechanics), you see every year Nollningen has a theme and this year the theme was occupations. After the team building every team walked a way to different play stations or what you could call it. Now every team had to pick as much points as possible. The funniest station I must say was when we had to get as many people as possible into a phone booth. And we got 2 points for every person that we got from the street, people that wasn’t in the team so to say. We got 21 people =P Pretty impressive huh? =P I was in the booth, sitting under the phone thing, I was so afraid that all the people above me would fall on me, but it was fun anyway… =D
29/8 - 06
Today the course started for real. I got into a nice class and got to know even more people, mostly people that are a bit older then me. Nothing more really happened this day lol
30/8 - 06
Today I started at 9.30 and it was really hard to get up. And to find the classroom was even harder, I almost got lost. But then I asked someone and she was nice enough to show me =D The lesson was really interesting and I got to know more people. Yesterday I didn’t go on Nollningen but today I did. It wasn’t as fun as it was the first day. I just don’t like it when people drink a lot and get drunk. Drinking just to get drunk. That was what sort of happened today. Not fun! Well we played a few games and that was pretty fun. But I left after that.
So today; 31/8-06 (22 days left to my b-day)
Today I started to talk to a girl called Anna and a boy called Kjartan (his parents are from Iceland). They are the same age (born 1987) as me and is also going to teach history. We sat down and ate lunch together. She’s from Skara and he lives in Arvika (a city not that far from Karlstad). After school I went away and got the package with my internet modem on the post office and then I got home and installed it =D and now I’m online YAY!
Tomorrow I don’t have school so I might get a bus home to Göteborg, but I wont be there much. Cos tomorrow evening my mum, my sister and maybe me (if I take the bus) are going away to one of my mums best friends and on Saturday we are going to pay my dear old granddad a visit. And I’m going to back to Karlstad on Sunday again. Now I’m going to make myself something yummy to eat =P
Good Night!
